Hoje conosco, Eliane Mezari!
Eliane é psicóloga, mora em Manaus. Nessa entrevista ela nos conta sobre o seu processo criativo e como consegue conciliar a arte e a psicologia em sua vida.
1- Conte como se tornou artista visual?
Eu tenho a arte no meu DNA, como outras pessoas da família, quando criança desenhava, moldava bichinhos com argila, fazia móbiles, criava cenários de teatro em minhas brincadeiras e mimetizava a Greta Garbo usando as combinações de cetim da minha Mãe. Na fase adulta a arte continuava me seduzindo e encantando em todas as suas formas de expressão, certo dia observando uma exposição de arte moderna tive um “insight”, uma certeza interna de que havia arte em mim, que poderia ser materializada e vista. Quando cursava Psicologia resolvi fazer minha primeira exposição intitulada janelas da Psique. No decorrer dos anos a dedicação aos estudos e a atuação com Psicóloga me desviava da arte e as exposições eram raras. Em 2015 retomei a arte fazendo uma exposição com excelente repercussão, entendi que não poderia mais parar de produzir e passei a participar de coletivas também fora do Brasil.
2- Qual mensagem você passa com sua arte?
Minha arte leva sempre a reflexões para questões internas, mesmo que o tema seja amplo. As obras sugerem várias indagações ao espectador, mas sempre está implícito o questionamento: “quem sou no contexto e como me sinto diante de”.
3- Como desenvolveu seu estilo e como é o seu processo?
Desenvolvi meu estilo com muita experimentação e liberdade, numa verdadeira alquimia de descobertas e desenvolvimento de técnicas que me levam a fruição desafiante do abstrato. Transito pelo abstrato expressionista, por desejar oferecer obras mais estruturadas. Considero o fazer da arte um ato de coragem de materializar as pesquisas e percepções da inesgotável poética da vida. O mesmo cuidado analítico que tenho sobre a vida, transfiro durante o processo de construção da obra.

4- Quais são suas referências?
Gosto de interpretar referências urbanas, a lua, o espaço sideral, figuras femininas e o mar. Também temas relativos a ficção científica e figuras abstratas que denomino “ciclopedianas” por terem um só olho. Meu inconsciente ligado à consciência coletiva, são fontes intuitivas de inspiração.
5- Você acha que o fato de ser psicóloga agrega em sua arte?
Ser Psicóloga me permite uma visão mais clara sobre a psique humana. A arte brota da minha alma para se comunicar com a alma de outras pessoas, é quando o saber científico se funde a sensibilidade e é transmutado na composição e profundidade daquilo que apresento.
6- Nós sabemos que a arte tem, por uma de suas metas, refletir o contexto social de sua época. Como ela se caracteriza nos tempos atuais e o que estaria refletindo sobre o mundo em que vivemos?
Minha arte é contemporânea, em concordância com o movimento de tudo que tem vida, está atrelada aos valores da arte moderna, por usar vários materiais sempre em processos de experimentação. A cada obra faço uma entrega que reflete um olhar humanizado de circularidade e sentido, transmite movimento, novas possibilidades e esperança.

7- O que você acha que é preciso para compor uma grande obra?
Penso que uma grande obra é provocativa, cheia de significados. A pesquisa sobre o tema tem que extrapolar o senso comum, mesmo que a imagem seja óbvia. Uma grande obra sugere muitas interpretações, é um presente afetivo, sensorial, cognitivo e intelectual aos espectadores, ao mesmo tempo que encanta tecnicamente, seja pela pureza ou rigor.
8- Qual obra sua você destacaria como um marco em sua vida artística?
Eu poderia citar “Doca dos Gatos”, onde o conceito trata da relação entre pais e filhos, é rica em símbolos e foi premiada em Dubai, certamente é uma pintura marcante pelo reconhecimento, mas “Neve em Nova York” se tornou marcante por ter partido de uma inspiração absolutamente expontânea, carregada de paixão e sem cobranças internas e externas. Quando me deparei com a tela pronta notei um salto evolutivo que veio se confirmar através de outros olhares. As obras são permeadas de sentimentos, mas quando a paixão é sobressalente, penso que se torna passível de provocar os outros neste sentido.

Today with us, Eliane Mezari! Eliane is a psychologist, lives in Manaus. In this interview, she tells us about her creative process and how she manages to reconcile art and psychology in her life.
1) Tell us how you became a visual artist? I have art in my DNA, like other people in the family, as a child I drew, molded animals with clay, made mobiles, created theater sets in my games and mimicked Greta Garbo using my Mother's satin combinations. art continued to seduce and enchant me in all its forms of expression, one day watching an exhibition of modern art I had an “insight”, an inner certainty that there was art in me that could be materialized and seen. When I was studying Psychology, I decided to do my first exhibition entitled Janelas da Psique. Over the years, my dedication to studies and working with a Psychologist distracted me from art and exhibitions were rare. In 2015 I returned to art doing an exhibition with excellent repercussions, I understood that I could no longer stop producing and I started to participate in collectives outside Brazil as well.

2) What message do you send with your art? My art always leads to reflections on internal issues, even if the theme is broad. The works suggest several questions to the viewer, but the question is always implicit: “who I am in the context and how I feel in front of it.
3) How did you develop your style and how is your creative process? I developed my style with a lot of experimentation and freedom, in a true alchemy of discoveries and development of techniques that lead me to a challenging fruition of the abstract. I transit through the expressionist abstract, wanting to offer more structured works. I consider making art an act of courage to materialize research and perceptions of the inexhaustible poetics of life. I transfer the same analytical care that I have about life during the construction process of the work.
4- What are your references? I like to interpret urban references, the moon, outer space, female figures and the sea. Also themes related to science fiction and abstract figures that I call “cyclopedian” because they have only one eye. My unconscious linked to the collective consciousness are intuitive sources of inspiration.

5) Do you think that being a psychologist adds to your art? Being a Psychologist allows me a clearer view of the human psyche. Art springs from my soul to communicate with the souls of other people, it is when scientific knowledge merges with sensitivity and is transmuted into the composition and depth of what I present.
6) We know that art has, for one of its goals, to reflect the social context of its time. How is it characterized in current times and what would it be reflecting on the world in which we live? My art is contemporary, in line with the movement of everything that is alive, it is linked to the values of modern art, as I always use various materials in experimentation processes. With each work I make a delivery that reflects a humanized look of circularity and meaning, transmits movement, new possibilities and hope.
7) What do you think it takes to compose a great work? I think a great work is provocative, full of meaning. Research on the topic has to go beyond common sense, even if the image is obvious. A great work suggests many interpretations, it is an affective, sensorial, cognitive and intellectual gift to the spectators, at the same time that it technically enchants, whether for its purity or rigor.
8) Which of your works would you highlight as a great creation in your artistic life? I could mention "Cats Dock", where the concept deals with the relationship between parents and children, is rich in symbols and was awarded in Dubai, it is certainly a remarkable painting for its recognition, but "Snow in New York" became remarkable for having based on an absolutely spontaneous inspiration, charged with passion and without internal or external demands. When I came across the finished screen, I noticed an evolutionary leap that came to be confirmed through other looks. The works are permeated with feelings, but when passion is outstanding, I think it is likely to provoke others in this regard.
