Hoje conversamos com a artista visual Lenny Hipólito.
Lenny faz do óleo sobre tela o meio de propor reflexões, a partir de formas inspiradas no Impressionismo e no Pós-Impressionismo.
Simbólica e incisiva, sua obra é elemento de transformação. O observador redescobre uma sensibilidade que o conduz, por entre cores e sombras, a um clima de sonho e harmonia.
Nesta entrevista, Lenny nos conta sobre sua jornada, sobre igualdade, consciência, mãos estendidas e mentes abertas. E nos mostra como faz da Arte a sua contribuição para um mundo melhor.
O que a levou à Arte?
Desde criança, minha mãe me incentivava a fazer pinturas em tecidos. A habilidade natural levou a um amor profundo pela Arte, em todos seus tempos e modalidades.
Vivi um processo contínuo de aperfeiçoamento, sempre aprendendo mais e mais.
Hoje a Arte está em tudo que eu produzo e realizo em todas as áreas da minha vida. É através dela que procuro dar minha contribuição para um mundo melhor. Porque esse proposta vai muito além do individual. A meta é contribuir para uma sociedade mais consciente, reflexiva e digna.
O que há de mais gratificante em ser artista?
A leveza de ser artista me seduz! O processo de criação, desde o primeiro pensamento sobre a produção de uma obra de arte até sua conclusão, me proporcionam reflexões diversas, autoavaliações e aprendizados. Uma senda de interesse e sabedoria. O estudo, o aprendizado contínuo, a aplicação de novas ideias são elementos muito gratificantes. Mais ainda porque me possibilitam levar ao público alegria, deslumbramento e evolução.
Quais artistas servem de referência para o seu trabalho?
São tantos! Na verdade, gosto muito de estudar a arte de todos os tempos. Mas os que exercem maior influência em minha arte são: Vincent van Gogh (em especial), Monet, Renoir, Manet, Matisse, Rousseau, Kandinsky, Klimt, Pollock, Kiefer entre outros. Cada mestre me faz inventar e reinventar, num impulso contínuo para novas experiências.
Fale sobre seu processo criativo. Como chega a inspiração?
Ah, o início de uma nova obra é um dos momentos mais espetaculares na vida do artista. Há uma explosão de pensamentos e sugestões sobre as formas, os traços, as cores e os tons. A inspiração pode chegar por uma pesquisa, um estudo, uma lembrança...A arte é um mistério. Quando me disponibilizo para a criação, invisto um tempo para pensar, sentir, reavaliar as pesquisas, visualizar a proposta, até fluir uma idéia conclusiva para o projeto. Faço o estudo e já o coloco em ação.
O nascimento de uma obra de arte dá uma sensação de prazer, é algo inexplicável!
E a conclusão reafirma sua existência, sua força, sua energia. É vital, é transcendental, é sobrenatural!
Suas obras têm presença feminina? Qual o sentido para você?
Sim, principalmente no que tange à delicadeza, à paciência, à atenção aos detalhes, à perspectiva, à sensualidade e à beleza em geral. Lembrando que, isto não acontece por eu ser do sexo feminino. Meu eu interior se manifesta nesse modelo.
No processo de comunicação artística, vejo a obra de arte e o apreciador, tornando-se eternos namorados, um completando o outro. Quero que minha arte participe da vida das pessoas. Não seja somente um objeto de contemplação. O principal sentido pode ser esse.
Quando começa uma obra, você já tem a imagem final em mente?
Sim. Quando estabeleço uma meta, determino a direção, o sistema, o modelo, o conteúdo, o tempo. Enfim, defino como cumpri-la.
Claro que em todo processo criativo, criação e construção, andam paralelamente a uma contínua adequação aos propósitos. No caminho, pode haver mudanças relevantes, porém, sem perder a essência, sem perder o foco.
Em cada fase de construção eu invisto muito tempo para a observação, o que contribui para o aprimoramento de todo o processo. Tendo em vista que a obra sempre me pede mais e eu sempre tenho mais a oferecer. Novas inclusões de elementos enriquecedores, também surgem o tempo todo. A obra amadurece, fica mais exigente e sábia. Eu preciso atender suas exigências e o faço com base no meu olhar e em meus sentimentos.
Qual mensagem você passa através da sua arte?
Minha proposta artística é colaborar para que as pessoas desenvolvam uma compreensão sobre elas próprias, sobre suas realizações e sobre todos os sentidos da vida. Quero celebrar memórias, dar esperança, inspirar devoção. Cabe ao observador a reflexão, para que a repercussão positiva se manifeste em nossas vidas, tanto no individual como no coletivo.
Como você desenvolveu o seu estilo?
Por toda minha vida artística, procurei investir o meu tempo em pesquisas, estudos, visitas a museus e galerias. Buscando referências de todos os períodos históricos.
Refletindo sobre meus estudos e ouvindo as leituras do público, procuro definir e sempre aperfeiçoar o meu estilo. Em contínua adequação com o mundo que me cerca, na volatilidade de comportamentos, múltiplas linguagens e globalização.
Procurei sempre conciliar minha admiração pelos mestres, como van Gogh, e o compromisso com a criatividade e a autenticidade.
Como você vê o momento cultural nos dias de hoje?
Acredito que falta incentivo e engajamento, num ambiente de interesses conflitantes entre as esferas pública e privada. Fazem falta programas baseados em pesquisas de dados mais realistas com uma visão regionalizada e menos restrita aos grandes centros. O momento cultural, precisa ser criado por pessoas engajadas na intelectualidade, na filosofia, na psicologia, na literatura, no conhecimento, na espiritualidade, na informação, na humanidade. Com respeito, disciplina, propósitos e com o compromisso de honrar as metas estabelecidas junto à sociedade, carente não somente de recursos financeiros, mas também de uma estrutura que permita restituir aos cidadãos a capacidade de se tornarem donos de seus próprios sonhos.
O brasileiro não tem hábito de consumir arte, embora isto esteja mudando nos últimos anos. Por que essa falta de interesse?
É uma questão cultural. Faltam programas, projetos incentivadores, tanto da iniciativa pública quanto privada. Porém, a globalização traz um impulso para uma integração cultural mundial. A revolução tecnológica, por outro lado, oferece muitos recursos para o indivíduo. Acredito que isso estimulará naturalmente o desejo de consumir arte. Devagar no início, mas irá crescer numa curva elevada e em pouco tempo.
Você acha que toda arte deve ser engajada?
Arte é mudança, transformação, esperança, reflexão!
O artista é um ser social e expressa os seus sentimentos, os seus sonhos, por meio da arte. Penso que toda arte deve abraçar causas que sejam: políticas, ideológicas, econômicas, sociais, culturais. Não só a arte visual, mas também música, cinema, dança, teatro, literatura e mais...Afinal, a arte estimula consciências. Entre os artistas que se manifestaram estão expoentes como Tarsila, Portinari, Goya e Picasso, entre tantos outros.
Importante lembrar também de todas as manifestações artísticas que, independente do cunho político, contribuem para conduzir o indivíduo ao autoconhecimento e à evolução.
Como você consegue conciliar as carreiras de Economista, Escritora e Artista Plástica?
Acredito que para tudo que requer o nosso tempo, é preciso trabalhar com planejamento, disciplina, comprometimento, fé, confiança e muita alegria em relação às datas e propostas assumidas. O nosso tempo, o ar e a luz solar, são fatores determinantes em nossas vidas. Trabalho o dia todo e até à noite, respeitando a definição do meu tempo para cada tarefa / atividade. Todos nós temos as mesmas vinte e quatro horas a cada dia. O que nos distingue é simplesmente a forma como administramos o nosso tempo e como fazemos nossas escolhas. Trata-se, na verdade, de administrar nossa vida. Quem não faz isso, apenas leva a vida, sem jamais vivê-la com a intensidade das possibilidades espetaculares que o Universo oferece.
Qual o quadro que você gostaria de ter pintado?
Gostaria de ter pintado “A Noite Estrelada” de van Gogh. Não somente pela beleza e mistério da pintura, mas pela condição em que a obra foi produzida: em um quarto de asilo psiquiátrico em que van Gogh se internou voluntariamente. “A Noite Estrelada” se tornou uma das obras mais valiosas do artista.
Assim, concluo com uma reflexão: Nada consegue se manifestar como obstáculo, quando estamos determinados, em absoluta convicção rumo ao sucesso!

Today we talk to visual artist Lenny Hipólito.
Lenny made oil on canvas the means of proposing reflections, based on forms inspired by Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. Symbolic and incisive, her work is an element of transformation. The observer rediscovers a sensitivity that leads, through colors and shadows, to a place of dream and harmony.
In this interview, Lenny tells us about her journey, about equality, conscience, outstretched hands and open minds. And how she makes Art her contribution to a better world.
What led you to Art?
Since I was a child, my mother encouraged me to make paintings on fabrics. Natural ability led to a deep love for Art, in all its times and modalities.
I lived a continuous process of improvement, always learning more and more.
Today Art is in everything I produce and do in all areas of my life. It is through it that I try to give my contribution to a better world. Because this proposal goes far beyond the individual. The goal is to contribute to a more conscious, reflective and dignified society.
What's the most rewarding thing about being an artist?
The lightness of being an artist seduces me! The creation process, from the first thought about the production of a work of art until its conclusion, provides me with different reflections, self-assessments and learnings. A path of interest and wisdom. The study, the continuous learning, the application of new ideas are very rewarding elements. Even more so because they enable me to bring joy, wonder and evolution to the public.
Which artists serve as a reference for your work?
There are so many! In fact, I enjoy studying art from all periods. But those who have the greatest influence on my art are: Vincent van Gogh (in particular), Monet, Renoir, Manet, Matisse, Rousseau, Kandinsky, Klimt, Pollock and Kiefer among others. Each master makes me invent and reinvent, in a continuous drive for new experiences.
Talk about your creative process. How does inspiration arrive?
Ah, the beginning of a new work is one of the most spectacular moments in the artist's life. There is an explosion of thoughts and suggestions about shapes, lines, colors and tones. Inspiration can come from research, study, memory ... Art is a mystery. When I make myself available for creation, I invest time to think, feel, reevaluate research and visualize the proposal, until a conclusive idea for the project flows. I do the study and put it into action.
The birth of a work of art gives a feeling of pleasure, it is something inexplicable!
And the conclusion reaffirms its existence, its strength, its energy. It is vital, it is transcendental, it is supernatural!
Do your works have a female presence? What's the meaning for you?
Yes, especially when it comes to delicacy, patience, attention to detail, perspective, sensuality and beauty in general. Notice, this is not because I am female. My inner self manifests itself in this model.
In the process of artistic communication, I see the work of art and the observer, becoming eternal lovers, one completing the other. I want my art to participate in people's lives. It shouldn't be just an object of contemplation. That may be the meaning.
When you start a work, do you already have the final image in mind?
Yes. When I set a goal, I determine the direction, the system, the model, the content, the time. I define how to fulfill it. Of course, in every creative process, creation and construction go hand in hand with a continuous adaptation to the purposes. On the way, there may be relevant changes, however, without losing the essence, without losing focus. In each construction phase I invest a lot of time for observation, which contributes to the improvement of the entire process. Bearing in mind that the work always asks me for more and I always have more to offer. New inclusions of enriching elements also appear all the time. The work matures, becomes more demanding and wiser. I need to meet your requirements and I do it based on my look and my feelings.
What message do you express through your art?
My artistic proposal is to collaborate so that people develop an understanding of themselves, their achievements and all the meanings of life. I want to celebrate memories, give hope, inspire devotion. It is up to the observer to reflect, so that the positive repercussions are manifested in our lives, both individually and collectively.
How did you develop your style?
Throughout my artistic life, I tried to invest my time in research, studies, visits to museums and galleries. Seeking references from all historical periods.
Reflecting on my studies and listening to the readings of the public, I try to define and always improve my style. In continuous adaptation to the world around me, in the volatility of behaviors, multiple languages and globalization.
I have always tried to reconcile my admiration for masters, such as van Gogh, and my commitment to creativity and authenticity.
How do you see the cultural moment today?
I believe that there is a lack of encouragement and engagement, in an environment of conflicting interests between the public and private spheres. Programs based on more realistic data searches with a regionalized view and less restricted to large centers are needed. The cultural moment needs to be created by people engaged in intellectuality, philosophy, psychology, literature, knowledge, spirituality, information, humanity. With respect, discipline, purpose and a commitment to honor the goals established with society, which lacks not only financial resources, but also a structure that allows citizens to recover the ability to become owners of their own dreams.
Brazilians are not in the habit of consuming art, although this has been changing in recent years. Why this lack of interest?
It is a cultural issue. There is a lack of programs, projects that encourage public and private initiatives. However, globalization provides an impetus for global cultural integration. The technological revolution, on the other hand, offers many resources for the individual. I believe that this will naturally stimulate the desire to consume art. Slowly at first, but it will grow in a high curve and in a short time.
Do you think all art should be engaged?
Art is change, transformation, hope, reflection!
The artist is a social being and expresses his feelings, his dreams, through art. I think that all art should embrace causes that are: political, ideological, economic, social, cultural. Not only visual art, but also music, cinema, dance, theater, literature and more ... After all, art stimulates consciences. Among the artists that have manifested themselves are exponents such as Tarsila, Portinari, Goya and Picasso, among many others.
It is also important to remember all the artistic manifestations that, regardless of the political nature, contribute to lead the individual to self-knowledge and evolution.
How can you reconcile the careers of Economist, Writer and Visual Artist?
I believe that for everything that requires our time, it is necessary to work with planning, discipline, commitment, faith, trust and a lot of joy in relation to the dates and proposals assumed. Our time, air and sunlight, are determining factors in our lives. I work all day and even at night, respecting the definition of my time for each task / activity. We all have the same twenty-four hours each day. What sets us apart is simply how we manage our time and how we make our choices. It is really about managing our lives. Whoever does not do this, just goes through life, without ever living it with the intensity of the spectacular possibilities the Universe offers.
What picture would you like to have painted?
I would like to have painted “The Starry Night” by van Gogh. Not only for the beauty and mystery of the painting, but for the condition in which the work was produced: in a psychiatric asylum room in which van Gogh admitted himself. “The Starry Night” became one of the artist's most valuable works.
So, I conclude with a reflection: Nothing can manifest itself as an obstacle, when we are determined, in absolute conviction towards success!
