Hoje conosco, Paulo Vettore!
1- Como e quando nasceu o interesse de Paulo Vettore pela arte?
Dizem que já nascemos artistas, todos podemos ser criativos. A diferença é quando colocamos em prática ou executamos o que sentimos.
Nasci numa família humilde, mãe do lar e pai carpinteiro, mas que faziam tudo com arte e amor. Aos quatorze anos de idade, numa aula livre na escola, a professora pediu para fazermos uma poesia. Havia acabado de chover, então fiz algo sobre a chuva, e acabou sendo escolhida como a melhor poesia da sala. Na mesma época li nas anotações de um irmão, um escrito de Jose Ingenieros "...tem um nobre espírito e pode alimentar o desejo de criar coisas tão grandes como as que sabe admirar." Me marcou profundamente, percebi que eu tinha essa sensibilidade para criar, comecei então a escrever poesias ou letras de música (na minha cabeça seriam musicadas um dia, pois tinha desejo de estudar música). Daí em diante, estudei violão popular no conservatório Villa Lobos de Osasco, curso livre de fotografia, mas a vida tomou outros caminhos. Em 2006 fiz cerâmica, como uma busca de algo que me faltava. Em 2013 me encontrei nas telas, após ser presenteado por uma irmã, que também pinta, com tintas e acessórios para pintura.
2- como foi o processo para definir o seu estilo?
Meu estilo está sempre em movimento, existe uma inquietação em descobrir novidades, mídias, suportes alternativos. Então me entendo como uma somatória dos estilos que vejo, desde os mais clássicos aos mais modernos. O certo é que defini mais meu tema que o estilo. Por influência de minha mãe, que cultivava orquídeas e outras plantas, sou um amante da natureza, especialmente as árvores, então tento colocá-las em quase todos os meus trabalhos.

3- Quais artistas você usa como referência ou inspiração de seu trabalho?
Gosto da época contemporânea, dos impressionistas e cubistas. Na atualidade, o que mais me inspirou com o meu tema é um artista Americano, de Fairbanks - Alaska, chamado Kesler Woodward. Numa visita a essa cidade, através de sua arte percebi a natureza exuberante do Alaska (e consequentemente, de outros lugares), me levando a fazer macro imagens ou abstrações de árvores para buscar a profundidade e a riqueza de detalhes.
4- As cores em sua pintura transmite muita emoção, como você alcança essa sensibilidade?
As angústias da vida deixam nosso mundo interior e exterior apagados. Imito essa alegria das cores que há na natureza para deixar esses ambientes, interno e externo, melhores.

5- O contato com a arte mudou a sua forma de ver a vida?
Certamente. Posso citar alguns ditos, como "arte existe porque a vida não basta" e "a arte é a maior prova da existência humana", mas para mim arte foi uma forma de expressar aquilo que não sei falar e também tentar deixar um legado belo para as próximas gerações.
6- Qual mensagem está por trás de seu trabalho?
Metáfora humana, ao me definir através do autoconhecimento e com profundidade em tudo que vejo. “Pela minha observação e expressão tento traduzir os ricos detalhes das árvores numa metáfora do que somos nós, humanos, com nossas camadas, cascas, feridas, reprodução, beleza e cor.”
7- O mundo atual está marcado pela tecnologia, O que você acha dessa crescente influência em nossas vidas?
Tecnologia nos ajuda em muitos aspectos da vida. O que seria dos artistas se não fossem os novos materiais, pinceis, tintas, ferramentas e a própria fotografia? Hoje conseguimos alcances maiores com as redes sociais. É um caminho sem volta, embora existam muitos movimentos cíclicos, retorno ao antigo, ao vintage, saudosismos. Como tudo, temos que usar com parcimônia e tentar extrair o que há de melhor e o que pode agregar a nossa arte com as tecnologias.

Today with us, Paulo Vettore!
1) How and when was Paulo Vettore's interest in art born? They say that we are born artists, we can all be creative. The difference is when we put into practice or execute what we feel. I was born into a humble family, mother of the house and father a carpenter, but who did everything with art and love. At the age of fourteen, in a free class at school, the teacher asked us to write a poem. It had just rained, so I did something about the rain, and it ended up being chosen as the best poetry in the room. At the same time I read in a brother's notes, a writing by Jose Ingenieros "...he has a noble spirit and can nourish the desire to create things as great as those he knows how to admire." It marked me deeply, I realized that I had this sensitivity to create, so I started writing poetry or song lyrics (in my head they would be set to music one day, because I wanted to study music). From then on, I studied folk guitar at the Villa Lobos Conservatory in Osasco, a free photography course, but life took other paths. In 2006 I made ceramics, as a search for something I lacked. In 2013 I found myself on canvas, after being presented by a sister, who also paints, with paints and painting accessories.
2) How was the process to define your style? My style is always on the move, there is a restlessness to discover novelties, media, alternative supports. So I understand myself as a sum of the styles I see, from the most classic to the most modern. The truth is that I defined my theme more than the style. Under the influence of my mother, who grew orchids and other plants, I am a nature lover, especially trees, so I try to put them in almost all my works.
3) Which artists do you use as a reference or inspiration for your work? I like the contemporary era, the impressionists and cubists. Currently, what inspired me the most with my theme is an American artist from Fairbanks - Alaska, named Kesler Woodward. On a visit to this city, through his art I noticed the exuberant nature of Alaska (and consequently, of other places), leading me to make macro images or abstractions of trees to seek depth and richness of details.
4) The colors in your painting convey a lot of emotion, how do you achieve that sensitivity? The anxieties of life leave our inner and outer worlds erased. I imitate this joy of colors in nature to make these environments, indoors and outdoors, better.
5) Has your contact with art changed your way of seeing life? Certainly. I can quote some sayings, such as "art exists because life is not enough" and "art is the greatest proof of human existence", but for me art was a way of expressing what I don't know how to say and also trying to leave a beautiful legacy for the next generations.
6) What message is behind your work? Human metaphor, when defining myself through self-knowledge and with depth in everything I see. “By my observation and expression I try to translate the rich details of the trees into a metaphor of what we humans are, with our layers, bark, wounds, reproduction, beauty and color.” 7- Today's world is marked by technology. What do you think of this growing influence in our lives? Technology helps us in many aspects of life. What would artists be if it weren't for new materials, brushes, paints, tools and photography itself? Today we achieve greater reach with social networks. It is a path of no return, although there are many cyclical movements, a return to the old, the vintage, nostalgia. Like everything else, we have to use it sparingly and try to extract the best and what we can add to our art with technologies.
